80/20 Wines

On a winter day in Penticton, BC, Pareto’s Blend was named. Pareto was an Italian philosopher and mathematician who is credited with the 80, 20 principle – that 20% of the population in Italy controlled 80% of the wealth – in the mid 19th century. This ratio has been used to demonstrate several different truths – perhaps the best being that 20% effort yields 80%results.

The blend of this wine in its first vintage in 2012 was  80% viognier, 20% syrah. This is where the name 80/20 Wines came from and what the mathematical watermark on the label nods to.
